Applicability of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we collect when you visit the Gridlight website, use our services, or communicate with us in any way (collectively, the "Services"). However, certain processing activities fall outside the scope of this Privacy Policy, as described below.
Business Customer Processing
Gridlight provides services to both individual users and businesses. When Gridlight is engaged to provide services to a business customer, we process personal information of the business customer's end users in accordance with the terms of our agreement with that business customer. This Privacy Policy does not govern such processing. For information on how your information is handled in this circumstance, please refer to the relevant business customer's privacy policy.
Third-Party Services and Websites
This Privacy Policy does not apply to non-Gridlight websites or services that state that they are offered under a different privacy policy. Please review the privacy policies on those websites and services directly to understand their privacy practices.
The Services
This section explains how our Services work in simple terms. Gridlight acts as an operating environment that allows you to run AI-enabled applications locally on your device(s). The selected AI application will run entirely on your device without requiring an internet connection. Because everything happens locally on your device(s), your inputs, prompts, queries, files, and documents ("Inputs") never leave your device(s). When you use Gridlight, what you enter helps inform future responses you receive ("Outputs").
Gridlight uses your Inputs to remember useful context so the AI application can respond more effectively later. Think of it like a brain's memory. Short-term memory is structured and detailed (databases) so it can be recalled quickly and accurately, but it's quickly converted to long-term memory that's stored more efficiently (algorithms). The memory enriches future interactions with additional context so responses increase in accuracy over time. Inputs are not permanently stored nor used for any model training purposes benefiting anyone else. Instead, your Inputs stay separate and are only used to improve your experience on your device.
Information We Collect
Depending on the nature of your interaction with Gridlight, we may collect personal information as follows:

- Contact information, including your name, telephone number, email address, mailing address, and any other information you choose to include when you communicate with us via the Services, email, mail, phone, or other channels.
- Employment-related information, such as your resume, education, and employment experience, if you apply for a job with us.
- Inputs you submit, including any information or data contained within them, as well as the Outputs generated if you require support or troubleshooting.
- Survey information in response to questions we may send you, including for feedback and research purposes.
- Transactional information, including payment information and payment history if you make a purchase or a donation.
- Any additional information you choose to provide to us, including questions, suggestions, testimonials, and feedback.

Device information and online user activity when you utilize our Services, as described in the next section.
Some of this information may be collected by external parties on our behalf. For example, we use a payment processor when you engage in a transaction through our Services; Gridlight does not itself collect or store payment card information.
Cookies and Information Collected By Automated Means
When you interact with our Services, certain information is automatically collected from you. This information includes:
- Usage details about your interaction with our Services, such as the date, time, and length of visits, specific pages or content accessed, search terms, and frequency of visits.
- Device information about the device you use to access our Services, such as IP address, device type, unique device identifier, operating system, browser type, and mobile network information.

How We Use Information
We use the information we collect from you to:
- Provide requested Services to you; manage your account; and process payments.
- As to your Inputs, Inputs are used solely to generate responses during your session. Your Inputs are not incorporated into the AI tool's permanent knowledgebase or used to train or improve the AI tool. Your Inputs and Outputs are stored in a separate memory layer that is segregated from the AI tool itself. In some cases, Gridlight may need to access your Inputs and Outputs to help troubleshoot issues, provide support, or comply with legal requirements or process (as discussed more below).
- Respond to your requests and questions; communicate with you; provide troubleshooting and other customer support; and provide important notices.
- Manage, maintain, and operate the Services; diagnose or fix technology problems; monitor the performance of the Services; and understand how you access and use the Services.
- Improve our Services; grow our business; better understand our customer base; administer surveys for market research and satisfaction purposes; post testimonials; and develop new products and services.
- Design and administer marketing and promotional campaigns and evaluate the effectiveness of these campaigns.
- Send you marketing emails with information on products or services that may be of interest to you and administer promotions or other special offers.
- Evaluate your qualifications, skills, and suitability for current or future employment opportunities with Gridlight; communicate with you regarding your application, interviews, and potential employment; and conduct reference checks, background checks, or other pre-employment screening activities where permitted by applicable law.
- Comply with legal requirements; defend against legal claims or other demands; respond to subpoena, court order, or other legal process or request; engage in risk management and compliance activities; protect the rights of Gridlight, you, or others; and detect, investigate, and prevent activities that may violate our policies or be fraudulent or illegal.
- Perform internal administration, auditing, and operations activities.
We may also use and share information with your consent or in an aggregated or de-identified manner at our discretion, including for research, analysis, modeling, marketing, and improvement of our Services.
How We Share Information
We may share the information we collect in the following instances:
- With service providers that need the information to perform a technology, business, or other professional function for us such as IT services, payment processing, accounting, analytics, auditing, and tax services, and other professional services.
- With other users. Gridlight offers a marketplace where users may choose to make their applications available to others. If a user elects to publish an application to the Gridlight marketplace, the application may be listed publicly and made available to other users, either for free or for a fee, depending on the developer's selection. Information associated with a published application is shared only as necessary to display, distribute, and support the application within the marketplace.
- With analytics providers that help us measure and analyze how you use the Services via cookies so we can measure and improve the performance of the Services.
- With entities in our corporate family, for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy, to carry out our business activities, and to the extent permitted by law.
- When a corporate event occurs, we reserve the right to transfer to another entity or its affiliates or service providers some or all information about you in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, sale of assets or any line of business, change in ownership control, or financing transaction. We cannot promise that an acquiring party or the merged entity will have the same privacy practices or treat your information the same as described in this Privacy Policy.
- For legal purposes; where necessary to comply with the law; in response to court orders, law enforcement or legal process, including for national security purposes, which may include lawful access by U.S. or foreign courts, law enforcement or other government authorities; to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights; as required to enforce our terms or other contracts; to defend against legal claims or demands; or to detect, investigate, prevent, or take action against illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the rights, property, or personal safety of any person.
How We Protect and Store Information
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us and the Services you use. We use a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect through the Services. While we use these precautions to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee the security of the networks, systems, servers, devices, and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf. If you access or use our Services outside of the United States, you understand that we and our service providers may collect, access, process, and store your personal information outside of the jurisdiction in which you reside.
Privacy Choices
Delete Inputs and Outputs
You can delete your Inputs and Outputs at any time by selecting the local reset button in the application's main menu. This clears saved context on that device and resets the application's memory.
Opt-out of cookies
You have several options to prevent our collection of information regarding your online activity, or prevent third parties from collecting information on the Services:
- Generally, you can modify your browser setting to disable or reject cookies across the internet; but if you do so, some features of our Services may not function properly or be available. Please note that you will need to set preferences on each web browser and device you use to visit our Services.
- Because definitions and rules for "Do Not Track" have not yet been established, including whether such signals must be user-enabled, we do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
- You may also opt out of third-party cookies we use by visiting their opt-out pages. These are examples of our cookie providers, but the list is not exhaustive. In addition, we are not responsible for the effectiveness of any of these opt-out mechanisms:
